Coming to Cornell from a predominantly Sephardic environment, the adjustment was not easy. The Jewish community was incredibly helpful in my transition to Cornell, but many of us felt as though something was still missing. Thanks to the hard work of Yosh, our advisor, and Adam, our current president, we formed a Sephardi and Mizrahi council that has already held numerous events. I had never imagined I would get the opportunity to have Sephardic Selichot, a Mimounah, a tea lounge, and a completely traditional Sephardic Shabbat dinner menu at college. I am proud to be part of an organization that meshes our Sephardic traditions with students' daily lives.
